Page 2 of 3 2. More sex. When men have affairs, they tend to be motivated by sex — new sex, more sex, different sex. Yes, men want sex. If a man has a disinterested partner or isn’t getting enough sex to fulfill him, there is a good chance he will have an affair. Is it fair or moral? No, it’s not – but sometimes men just don’t think in those categories.
3. Different sex. Studies show most men who cheat want to experiment sexually and experience the rush associated with new or different sex. If their sex life becomes boring, they maybe don’t want or don’t know how to change it. This might be the men’s way of prolonging the early phase of infatuation in a relationship.
4. To raise their ego. Some men just want a confirmation they are still attractive to the opposite sex. And then, when a woman shows some interest, men may be pleased and flattered and decide to go for it.
5. The thrill of hunt. There’s nothing like the thrill of the chase to men on the hunt. Men want something new, different and exciting. Once again, there is a much better way to avoid boring routine, but some men are too emotionally immature to figure it out. And it’s not a more attractive partner (comparing to their regular partners) they are after, it’s just they want a NEW partner.
